Only Songs Which Glorify Fearless Leader Are Allowed In Turkmenistan

22 02 2011
[The cult of personality is reviving the police state in the former Soviet satellite.  The only permissible songs are those which glorify the great leader of Turkmenistan?  Berdymukhamedov may find himself in Mubarrak's condition, if he keeps this up.]

During the performance of songs about love – under arrest!

Chronicles of Turkmenistan

Police regime, officially referred to as a “new Renaissance”, prohibits the execution of any songs, except for glorifying the country’s president.

Jan. 28 young Turkmen singer Maksat Kakabaeva living in Ashgabat, was summoned to the 2nd Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and planted for 15 days only for the fact that he was interviewed by Turkish television.

After the interrogation caused everyone who starred with him in music videos, and forced to write explanations. The raid struck the singers, working abroad. Did not spare even located “in an interesting position” Gozel Annamuhamedovu . ”Let the house singing!” – Clearly summed up the police chief, were detained Kakabaeva.

People familiar with the situation believe that the excesses of police followed the next day after the announcement by President severe reprimand Minister of National Security Charymuradu Haman. DHS often uses the police to their advantage.

Sudden disgrace to singers called the initiative, Vice-Premier Mays Yazmuhamedovoy. She did not like that the Turkish television channel TMB interviewed a young talented artist Maksat Kakabaeva, which included the invitation of Turkish singer to sing along your favorite song of the Turkmen.

Parents and relatives of the singers and musicians in complete bewilderment. ”What crime was committed by our children, brothers and sisters? - They asked. - The children sing songs about love, shot in the clips in beautiful clothes, all well, seems to be no frills does not allow you? “

Police regime, officially referred to as a “new renaissance”, prohibits the execution of any songs, except for glorifying the country’s president. Apparently, now a criminal offense, any initiative, observers say. Behind the scenes in the country, there are lists of “objectionable” performers. They – the already mentioned Gozel Annamuhamedova, Murat OvezovKerim KurbanalievBilbil OrazovEnesh RejepovLachin Mamedov . And because lists tacit happen different incidents. So, to the surprise of many, New Year’s Eve Turkmen television showed video disgraced Lachin Mamedova. Measures followed immediately: immediately after the holiday guide channel was severely reprimanded.

Musical artists of any status, by their own admission behind the scenes in Turkmenistan do not believe in people. Strict state pressure closes them any chance of creative development. Sang the wrong song (not the head of state) or not there is about to close a stage career. It is appropriate to recall the event in the life of Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Gulyar Baltaevoy . In October last year after participating in a foreign concert by private invitation, singer and teacher, was dismissed from the National Conservatory.

But she, like many other artists of pop and classical repertoire, gladly accept a job abroad. However, in this case, they need to leave their country and become displaced. If the singers are sent disks with their clips and they begin to turn on the radio and television abroad, particularly in Turkey, they have at home there is a threat to life and health. But if by good fortune avoided prison bars, the list of “restricted to leave the citizens” they can not escape. A withdrawal from virtually none. Annual arithmetic progression list shows the official zeal security officers, crowd out the list of real professional activity department.

According to experts, the pressure on the representatives of the musical art was the logical continuation of the pursuit of creative people in Turkmenistan. Police regime has destroyed journalism, literature, visual arts, dance, music remained mute, although official government boasts of opening a new music channel. But in Turkmenistan, it almost does not look and do not listen, because there’s sound archive recordings or performers of “Hallelujah” president.

All of the above cases of civil rights violations caused public outrage in Turkmenistan. This, however, mostly relatives, acquaintances. They were asked to publish this information in the hope that the Turkish television channel, after learning about the consequences that affect the lives of Turkmen citizens, unable to speak on their behalf. The general public does not know about suffocating lawlessness perpetrated by the power structures of Turkmenistan. And encourages them to none other than the President. Declared “strogacha” for “unsatisfactory performance of official duties”, Minister of MNS, apparently now satisfied.

Meanwhile, many categories of citizens of the country there is an accumulation of negative energy, ascertain the observers. Coglasno laws of physics, it does not disappear but turns into another form.

Mark Ciavarella and another judge were accused of collecting $2.6 million in kickbacks from private, for-profit juvenile detention facilities to keep the centers’ bunks full of juvenile offenders.

A crooked judge who was convicted of taking bribes from private juvenile detention centers received a tongue-lashing outside court from a heartbroken mom whose son committed suicide after the judge unfairly threw the book at him.

Mark Ciavarella, a former juvenile court judge in Luzerne County, Penn., was convicted Friday of sentencing hundreds of kids convicted of minor offenses to harsh, for-profit detention centers in exchange for millions in kickbacks from the centers’ owners.

The jury convicted Ciaverella, 61, of 12 counts, including racketeering and conspiracy, in one of the most stunning cases of judicial corruption in the state’s history.

Ciaveralla was booted off the bench in Luzerne County two years ago after prosecutors first accused him and a second judge, Michael Conahan, of running the “cash for kids” scandal.

The two judges were accused of taking $2.6 million in bribes to send children to PA Child Care LLC, a juvenile lock-up in Wilkes-Barre, and another center for minor or first-time offenses, including stealing change from cars, joyriding and possessing drug paraphernalia.

As he was leaving court in Scranton, Ciaverella was confronted by Sandy Fonzo, whose son, Edward Kenzakoski, killed himself last year after the twisted judge’s decision to put him away for a minor drug offense sent the boy’s life spiraling out of control.

“My kid’s not here anymore. He’s dead! Because of him!” Fonzo shouted at the judge and his lawyer as they talked to reporters on the courthouse steps.

“He ruined my f—— life! I’d like him to go to hell and rot there forever!” she shouted.

As guards attempted to restrain her, Fonzo reached out and touched the ex-judge on the arm, shouting, “Do you remember me?”

“Do you remember my son? An all-star wrestler? He’s gone, he shot himself in the heart, you scumbag!”

Kenzakoski was 17 and expecting to receive a college wrestling scholarship when he was busted for possession of drug paraphernalia and landed in the ex-judge’s court.

Ciavarella, who was known as “Mr. Zero Tolerence,” sentenced him to fours months in book camp and 30 days at the youth jail for the offense, which was his first.

As a result of the bust, the boy didn’t get the scholarship he expected and fell into a life of crime and depression, his mom said.

He developed anger issues and was convicted of aggravated assault as an adult, Wilkes-Barre’s Times Leader reported.

He shot himself last June, at the age of 23.

Fonzo said after the confrontation that she went after Ciavarella because she was angry that he had been allowed to go home pending sentencing instead of being sent to prison.

“My son was my life, that’s all I had, and now it’s gone. I don’t have that same life. I don’t exist right now,” Fonzo told CNN.

[Ciavarella] took everything from me, and I’ll never forgive him,” she said.

The ex-judge said he was innocent throughout the trial, saying he “never took a dime to send a kid anywhere.”

Ciavarella is free until his sentencing. He could face up to 157 years in prison.

Conahan agreed to plead guilty to fraud charges and will serve 87 months in prison.

Davis was providing security for a CIA team-tracking militants: Report

22 02 2011

[This report would seem to confirm that the "diplomat" was one of the Taliban hunters in Pakistan, who were Blackwater/XE, and that Davis and friends were providing protection to the Blackwater Predator teams.  Another report from Dawn, that Davis had one or more of the microchip tracking units in his possession, adds further evidence that the spy was in the business of hunting humans.  The murders in Lahore had to be tied to the assassination program, as well.  Davis may simply have been trying to eliminate ISI agents dogging him, as he left for another unauthorized trip to Peshawar or Wana, or it could have been something far more sinister, something we haven't a clue about yet.]

Davis was providing security for a CIA team-tracking militants: Report

Karachi, Feb 22 (ANI): US national Raymond Davis, who has been accused of murdering two Pakistani citizens, was assigned to protect a CIA team tracking militants in Pakistan, according to a British newspaper.

On January 27, Davis was familiarising himself with a “sensitive area” of Lahore when he shot dead two Pakistanis.

The Guardian said in its report quoted US officials as confirming that CIA agent Raymond Davis had worked for the private security contractor Xe, formerly known as Blackwater.

The officials also disclosed that Davis had been providing security for a CIA team-tracking militants, Dawn reports.

Davis was attached to the CIA’s Global Response Staff, whose duties include protecting case officers when they meet with sources, the report said.

The US media outlets said they had been aware of Davis’ status but kept it under wraps at the request of US government officials who said they feared for his safety if involvement with the CIA was to come out.

US officials further claimed that Davis was at risk in the Lahore prison. (ANI)

Iranian warships enter Suez Canal

Iranian warships enter Suez Canal amid Israeli concern

The Alvand is on a training mission, Iran says

Two Iranian warships have entered the Suez Canal to make a passage to the Mediterranean Sea, canal officials say.

Iranian officials have said the warships are headed to Syria for training, a mission Israel has described as a “provocation”.

“They entered the canal at 0545 (0345 GMT),” Suez Canal officials said.

It is believed to be the first time since Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution that Iranian warships have passed through the Suez Canal.

Iran’s request stated the vessels would have no military equipment, nuclear materials or chemicals on board, the Egyptian defence ministry is quoted as saying.

The ships involved are the frigate Alvand and a supply vessel, the Kharg.

Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency reported in January that Iranian navy cadets were going on a year-long training mission through Suez and into the Mediterranean, according to the Reuters news agency.

A Suez Canal official said Egypt could only have denied transit through the strategic waterway in case of war.

Israel considers Iran a threat because of its controversial nuclear programme, development of ballistic missiles, support for Lebanese and Palestinian militant groups, and Tehran’s repeated anti-Israel rhetoric.

Last week, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said: “To my regret, the international community is not showing readiness to deal with the recurring Iranian provocations. The international community must understand that Israel cannot forever ignore these provocations.”

CIA holds competition at College

22 02 2011

[This is another brilliant CIA innovation--create a competition among colleges within the CIA's neighborhood, to find the most efficient way for the CIA to take over the colleges during specific national emergency scenarios.

The comment that “The mentor did not lead,” shows that the spies were trying to look at the solutions from the other side of the mirror, to anticipate future problems that agents would encounter from the "grass roots" side, as they tryied to facilitate the agency takeover.  The CIA hand has been revealed in the recent global agitations, working through "change agents" and agitators, some of whom are implanted long beforehand, in universities, media sites, professional organizations, political action groups, unions, etc. This alleged American university simulation is preparation for the same thing here in America that has happened in Egypt and N. Africa.  This is an attempt to prepare a political espionage network in the universities, so that agitators and dangerous free thinking types can be identified beforehand, preparing "hit lists" for the political thought police who are preparing to emerge.

The Young Republicans' Club and the Democrats for Change know who you are; it doesn't matter which brand is stamped on the counter-revolution, your name will not be remembered for long.

The point is--this is an exercise in preparing a voluntary army of eager political informers, to help the agency take control when the Global Revolution washes over our shores.

I guarantee that there was no shortage of volunteers on Feb. 7 who wanted to feel like their brains were "going to explode with all the facts he had to juggle in his head.”]

CIA holds competition at College

By Ian Brickey February 21, 2011

The College of William and Mary and the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency conducted a crisis simulation competition Feb. 7, involving intelligence personnel and students from throughout the commonwealth of Virginia.

Meeting in the Sherman and Gloria H. Cohen Career Center and the Sadler Center, CIA personnel and students from the College, Norfolk State University, Sweetbriar College, the University of Mary Washington, the University of Richmond, Washington College, Old Dominion University and Virginia Tech came together to discuss CIA-authored scenarios in a think tank setting. According to government professor Dennis Smith, the meeting at the College was a unique conference.

“Usually the CIA will do a simulation two or three times a year with just a single school,” Smith said in a press release. “We proposed to them a competition-type simulation involving multiple schools. It was kind of like a Model UN for the intelligence community. They loved the idea and brought us a new scenario.”

Smith and government professor Amy Oakes serve as the directors of the College’s Project on International Peace and Security, which seeks outstanding students in the College’s government, public policy and international relations programs. For the conference, participants were divided into five-person teams, each of which was led by a CIA-affiliated mentor. Each team received raw intelligence concerning a fictional but plausible international incident and was then allotted three hours to address the information and prepare a brief outlining the situation and proposing a course of action for the U.S. government to take.

“The mentor did not lead,” Smith said. “The mentor was there to observe and provide suggestions.”
Representatives on the College team included Emily Pehrsson ’13, Julia Zamecnik ’11, William Shimer ’13, Lindsay Hundley ’12 and Katie Mitchell ’13.

At the conclusion of the three-hour period, CIA analysts looked over the briefs of each of the eight participating teams. The two best teams went on to compete in a head-to-head competition before a panel ofCIA analysts. The panel chose the team from Norfolk State University as that with the best brief.

Smith said that the competition was not just a game, but he also said that it served more than professional interests.

“It wasn’t designed as a recruiting event,” Smith said. “It was designed to be an educational event. It was designed to teach analytical skills and the importance of knowing how to deliver a brief. I talked to students from all the schools. They all said that it was the most intense experience that they’ve ever had. One student told me that he felt like his brain was going to explode with all the facts he had to juggle in his head.”

National Strike Called For Friday In Pakistan, Over American Meddling

22 02 2011

Countrywide strike called on Friday

By our correspondent
Tuesday, February 22, 2011

LAHORE: Demonstrations against the possible release of US national Raymond Davis continued on Monday as hundreds of people, led by Jamaatud Dawah leaders, marched from Chauburji to the Qurtaba Chowk, demanding death to the alleged US spy and holding Washington accountable for the large scale killings in drone attacks and bomb blasts at public places.

The demonstrators, including students, lawyers, workers, political activists and local traders, raised slogans against Washington’s growing interference in Pakistan “courtesy the agent rulers and top bureaucrats”.

Addressing the protesters, the leaders announced a countrywide protest day on Friday, Feb 25 and vowed to continue the campaign in all corners of the country till the execution of Davis, warning the rulers against succumbing to the US pressure to release him.

JD central leader Maulana Ameer Hamza said that rulers had been acting as Washington’s agents since they were providing the US officials ample chances to strike some deal with the victims’ families for withdrawing of murder cases against Davis.

He asked why the rulers who had been distributing millions of rupees among the families of accident victims had never tried to go to the families of those killed by US spies to offer them any compensation.

U.S. Officials Confirm Davis CIA/Blackwater

22 02 2011

American Held in Pakistan in Deadly Shooting Provided Security for CIA

Raymond A. Davis, the U.S. official at the heart of a tense stand-off with the Pakistan government, was working for the CIA as an independent contractor when he shot and killed two Pakistani men, according to two senior U.S. intelligence officials.

In the fullest account yet of how an American official came to be held for the deadly shooting in Pakistan, three current officials have told ABC News who Davis was working for and what he was doing on January 27th when the incident occurred.

According to a current senior U.S. official and a senior intelligence consultant who worked with Davis, the 36-year-old American is a former Blackwater contractor who was posted to Lahore as part of the CIA’s Global Response Staff, or GRS, a unit of security and bodyguards assigned to war zones and troubled countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan. Members of the GRS most often accompany CIA case officers, who meet with clandestine sources.

Davis and a group of fellow security officers lived in a safehouse in Lahore. The CIA keeps safehouses for security personnel in an effort to limit the ability for militants to track their movements, the intelligence contractor said.

On Jan. 27, Davis left the safehouse and conducted an “area familiarization route,” according to the senior U.S. official. He drove through various Lahore neighborhoods for several hours. It was during his route, two U.S. officials say, that Davis stopped at an A.T.M. and possibly drew the attention of two Pakistani men on a motorcycle.

Davis has told the police in Lahore that the two men were attempting to rob him when he fired several rounds from his Glock handgun hitting them both. The police report says that Davis claimed one of the men had a gun cocked at him. Davis fired multiple rounds from inside his car, killing one man in the street, while the second died later from his injuries.

Davis then called for help from several other CIA security officers who shared his Lahore safehouse, according to a U.S. official and the intelligence consultant. As they arrived near the intersection, they accidentally hit a Pakistani motorcyclist. The motorcyclist later died of his injuries. Davis’ colleagues were unable to get to Davis before the police arrested him. They left the scene and returned to their safehouse.

Within hours, they had destroyed all government documents at the safehouse, abandoned it, and retreated to the U.S. consulate for safety. Both have since returned to the U.S., according to a senior U.S. official briefed on the case.

From Tahrir Square To Shatila Camp: “Cry Hurriya!” (freedom!)

21 02 2011

From Tahrir Square To Shatila Camp:  “Cry Hurriya!” (freedom!)

Franklin Lamb

The Tahrir Square “Hurriya!”  tremors spreading across the Middle East may or may not be impacting today’s events in the  historically liberal American state of Wisconsin and other areas of America,  yet most of us would agree that the Tunisian-Egyptian revolutions are being felt far and wide and appear to be dramatically gaining steam. Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees camps are no exceptions.

Perhaps sooner rather than later, a half dozen or so Arab despots may  reluctantly retire or leave for medical treatment in Saudi Arabia. Indeed some Saudis may themselves move to America to occupy their vast real estate holdings stateside, some located in largely Israeli duo-national neighborhoods, whose occupancy rates are also dramatically rising, as many in Israel sense that the CIA predicted collapse of  their settler colony may be accelerating.

Also feeling the widening flood torrents are those depending on the 1978 Camp David Accords and its ‘Rosemary’s baby,’ the 1979 “Peace Treaty” that castrated Egypt, betrayed the Palestinians and ceded regional dominance  to Israel for three decades. The White House reportedly is reconciled to the fact that Camp David may be ‘renegotiated’ but, like Israel, fears it may be frozen and indefinitely suspended if not scrapped completely in the coming months. This is part part of the re-ordering we are witnessing as the new era and indeed culture of resistance spreads.

Panicked Israeli leaders and their  agents in Congress are busy trying to convince the American public how vital and cheap the $3 billion per year cost of Camp David is for America’s security while they know the truth is precisely the opposite. AIPAC has been saturating Capitol Hill this week as well as media outlets with  its just released Red Alert!  “Urgent Appeal” which reads as follows:  Please urge your House member to sign a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that urges all branches of the U.S. government to emphasize to prospective Egyptian leaders and opposition figures the importance of Egypt’s international obligations, specifically its Camp David peace treaty with Israel.”

Just yesterday, 2/18/11, the Palestinian UN delegation, in a rare display of back bone, presumably influenced by the revelations in the Palestine Papers, of treachery and resulting charges of treason, as well as Tahrir Square, joined the 130  UN Member co-sponsors of the UNSC Resolution and stared down Barak Obama and Ambassador  Susan Rice and rejected their proposed gutting of the modest  Security Council Resolution condemning Israeli settlements.  Before the vote, threats were issued from the White House personally delivered to PA  “President”  Mahmoud Abass during a 40 minute reportedly tense telephone call from the President and before Abass presumably recovered from that upbraiding,  another  one came from Hilary Clinton.

The British, Russian, and Chinese ambassadors were among those who rose to speak in favor of the failed resolution. Still, it was a rare 14-1 Security Council vote in solidarity with Palestine. It was also yet another  American Veto, that for the 63rd time, signaled the American public and the World that under Congressional pressure,  it is Israeli settlers inhabiting stolen land, not the American people or their values,  that still prevail even as the US and Israel reap an Arab and Islamic awakening that is hastening their  expulsion from the region. Just hours after the courageous UN vote, the new provisional government in Cairo announced the opening of Rafah crossing, if only on a limited basis—for now.

Symbolism is everywhere-and sometimes seemingly everything. Who would have thought that Egypt, just days after Mubarak’s recall, would welcome, for the first time since 1979, Iranian warships through the Suez Canal?  When Iran’s  ships arrive at Port Said they are expected to be greeted and perhaps feted by dock workers and the Egyptian public, despite Israeli  threats and claims delivered by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman that Iran’s use of the international waterway is “an hostile act” and “proves the Iranians are becoming more and more cheeky.”

Many Palestinians in Lebanon’s camps and communities, like the rest of us appear almost mesmerized by what’s been happening. A survey conducted by the Arab World for Research and Development (AWRAD), published on February 2, 2011 showed, that  74 percent of the Palestinians support pro-democracy protests in Tunisia, which toppled President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali. In Lebanon’s camps it appears that support for the Arab Awakening grows with each new revolt in the region.

They feel, as no doubt many who have been working for Palestinian civil rights in Lebanon for the past 20 years, including more than two dozen International and local NGO’s and civil society organizations, that the power of Tahrir Square will mean that Lebanon’s Palestinian refugees will at long last  be granted the elementary, internationally mandated civil right to own a home and  to work that every other refugee enjoys by law.

Stellar examples of the new Palestinian leadership in Lebanon’s camps pressing for civil rights include my best friend in Shatila Camp Zeinab al Hajj, born, raised and still living in Shatila Camp. And does she ever welcome western visitors whom she  quickly converts to her cause! To arrive at Zeinab’s home/office and to learn about the Palestinian refugee’s urgent need for elementary civil rights, and why she and her friends believe the new Hezbollah led government, also inspired by Tahrir Square, will honor its moral, religious, legal and political obligations to achieve the right to work and home ownership, is simple enough.

The 14 member three generation Al Hajj family always welcomes foreign visitors into their three rooms and roof top space that overlooks the area of the camp where  some of the most intense slaughter took place not only during the 1982 Sabra-Shatila Massacre, also during the 1985-88 camp wars when Shatila and Burj Barajneh  camps were targeted for destruction by some factions who still today boast that Palestine is their blood stream cause. Indeed some of those who gave the orders  to slaughter men, women and children in Shatila during the misnomered “camp wars’ ghoulishly have their photo-shop posters  plastered around parts of the south end of Shatila camp.

Of course there were no “camp wars”  but rather a series of intermittent slaughters of mainly unarmed civilians between 1985-88, allegedly to prevent the return of the PLO under Arafat’s leadership, until then Hezbollah spokesman, Subhi al-Tufayli (later Secretary-General between 1989-92) and others stepped in and demanded that President Hafez Assad of Syria put an end to the killing, declaring that Hezbollah was prepared to send fighters to  defend the Palestinian camps.  One can imagine what Palestinian families, nearly all of whom lost a relative at the hand of their Arab brothers, feel today about those smiling “solidarity” faces as they walk their children to school. Just seeing them plastered on poles and walls, is for this observer, enraging and the equivalent of seeing Ariel Sharon’s or Rafael Eitan’s bill boarded mugs inside Shatila camp.

To sit with  and learn from ‘Miss International’, her friends and her elderly parents, who as children walked half a day into Lebanon from Safed in northern Palestine on May 12, 1948, all one has to do is enter Shatila Camp from the south, diagonal from what’s left of the Palestine Red Crescent Society’s  Akka Hospital. Continue  north along Rue Sabra toward what remains of the former Gaza PRCS Hospital. Gaza Hospital was for years, before the Palestinian Resistance departed in August of 1982,  among the best equipped and administered hospitals in the Middle East. It was bombarded, destroyed and stripped of all its equipment during the Camp “Wars”,  and  the hospital’s shell is now home to roughly 1000 refugees who exist, packed into every room, hall way and alcove from the operating theater to the hospital morgue.  Continue north  past Martyr’s Cemetery where around 1000 unidentified victims of the Israeli sponsored 1982 Massacre at Shabra-Shatila are buried, one takes the third right down a narrow alley where the sun has not shown for 60 years.  Step around the puddles of sewage and the ruts, watch out for dozens of beautiful children chasing and playing, or going or coming from the camps two UNWRA schools,  avoid careening bikes and proud, if stressed, Palestinian women with shopping bags, sometimes balanced on their heads, and babies in their arms and you’ll find the cinder block hovel on your left next to a rusty zinc roofed shelter that camp residents avoid. The reason people don’t like to go inside the shelter is that 29 years ago the al-Hajj family allowed their neighbors to hide in their shelter during the 1982  massacre, as they themselves fled east to the then Algerian Embassy, across airport road from Shatila camp-currently the City Hall of the Hezbollah run Municipality of Ghouberi.

When the Hajj family returned to their home following the Massacre, they learned that all 17 neighbors using their shelter were slaughtered because the Israelis had given maps showing the exact location of the 11 shelters to the Phalange-Lebanese Forces militias.  Zeinab, 7 years old at the time, recalls that she wanted to stay in the shelter and not flee because she planned to play with her dolls and her best friend Mona and they liked their private ‘hideout’ space.  All  278 camp residents, with four exceptions, who entered the Israeli identified shelters in Shatila Camp were butchered between 6 pm Thursday and around midnight Friday, September 16-17, 1982.

Last night’s conversation, while enjoying a delicious bowl of hot  Palestinian  shorba prepared by Mrs. Hajj was about  what Zeinab and her friends call the “Great Arab and Palestinian Awakening.”  ‘What is happening?  “Is it possible that Sykes-Picot’ off-spring can be liberated sooner rather than later?” Zeinab’s  sister  Suha, a nursing student at near-by Bahman hospital, scowled, referring to Israel.

Amidst the unfolding upheaval in the Middle East, some are expecting Lebanon’s Palestinian camps to  erupt in revolt  to protest economic and social  conditions  that are worse than any of the areas now in open revolt. If an eruption comes, it will be a quest for freedom, dignity and justice. Lots of meetings and discussions are being held but so far few signs of organizing mass demonstrations, although the current calm could abruptly shatter.

Zeinab’s friends are also more optimistic these days about the chances that they will finally be granted some elementary civil rights. The growing excitement  appears to be fueled by the  freedoms  many camp residents predict in Tunisia and Egypt and perhaps throughout the region, but also as a result of the new government in Lebanon. The failure in Parliament last summer to achieve meaningful changes with respect to the right to work and to own a home in Parliament was a major disappointment in the camps, but with the new government hopes have risen.

Their growing zeal is made manifest in the quickly spreading activism among young Palestinians, being encouraged by their elders whose numbers comprise many sometimes honored, sometime seemingly forgotten, Palestinian resistance heroes who over the past half century helped earn the world’s recognition and increasing support of the Palestinian cause. I  mean this reference to honor those, now middle aged, many sitting idly in the camps reminiscing and wondering what went wrong as they discuss latest developments such as the Palestine Papers, and who have struggled for so long to return to Palestine. Many from before the days when the  arch Zionist Golda Meir could proclaim that “there are no such people as  Palestinians” and much of the world’s media reflexively reported her lies as truth,  and who have never compromised the principles which underpin the Palestinian struggle for justice. I recently  met a man in Shatila Camp, who in 1950 in Gaza, worked with the Executive Committee of the Refugees’ Conference.  This was of course 14 years before the founding of the PLO in Cairo. It  was this Committee which led  the first legislative council in Gaza in the early sixties, and sent the first Palestinian delegation of refugees to the United Nations in 1961.

Lebanon’s camps are full of aging heroes.  Among them thousands of  mothers who have suffered and achieved so much for their families, their cause and their country. Their progeny fill the teeming camps.  There is a young Nelson Mandela in Rashedeyeh camp near Tyre.  Another I met in Ein el Helwe appears to be a clone on Dalal Moughiby. In Nahr al Bared, still waiting to be rebuilt following its destruction in 2007,  I watched a youthful Khalil al Wazir (Abu Jihad) explain his hopes to revive Palestinian resistance until liberation. In Wavall camp in the Bekaa I spent an evening with teenaged would-be Hassan Nasrallah who wants to help lead his people back to Palestine.

Like the streets of Cairo, Lebanon’s camps are starting to cry “Hurriya!” The camps here  have birthed new leadership, aided by the old, that will anticipate that the new government  will respect the words of the Resistance and enact in Parliament the full Right to Work and repeal the discriminatory 2001 law that criminalizes Palestinian home ownership.

The Singularity Movement

Nausherwan Awan

It was a memorable Tuesday, this week in Calafornia when Dr. Raymond Kurzweil, introduced a human machine.Dr.Kurzweil said that “ By making machines smarter-than-human intelligence …”, or by equipping humans with devices better than their brains, and, ultimately, transferring human intelligence to artificial devices

.This is artificial intelligence , but hold you horses, because this technology cost 25,000 USD for a week and permenantly it will cost more than half a million USD and that doesnt include maintainance and remember the fact that unlike your mobile or your laptop if you dont charge yourself up everyay, you are going to face death. There is one thing I have to say though, from a child’s point of view.Do you remember watching the animated movie called “Nine” in which robots take over the human world and the human race goes extinct? So, what I think Dr.Kurzweil is doing here is making a device that is by far more powerful than man which means that that device has the power to cause extinction of mankind but this device has it’s advantages too such as you can live your normal life and when you reach 60 and think I’m close to the end, you can live another 150 years by using this device but you have to be some sort of a Russian billioniare or Bill Gates to actually buy this and maintain this machine because the organs alone cost half a million USD.Dr.Kurzweil had started this project in the 1960’s.This has always been Dr.Kurzweil’s secret and back then in the 60’s nobody would have guessed it either. This invention is new, for sure but the idea isnt because in 1965 the British mathematician I.J. Good described something he called an “intelligence explosion” .He said:

“Let an ultraintelligent machine be defined as a machine that can far surpass all the intellectual activities of any man however clever. Since the design of machines is one of these intellectual activities, an ultraintelligent machine could design even better machines; there would then unquestionably be an “intelligence explosion,” and the intelligence of man would be left far behind. Thus the first ultraintelligent machine is the last invention that man need ever make.”

Well, the British mathematician I.J. Good is right but think about it, think about the negative effects.First of all the human race will be wiped out because these machines are far more powerful than man so first, the human race is wiped out and then charging your body isnt going to be cheap and neither is is going to use a tiny amount of electricity. There will be an energy crisis because of the amounts of electricity this uses.I think this creation is going to be more popular than the invention of the car and more dangerous than the nuclear bomb because this invention is more powerful than man and has more intelligence than a supercomputer.Goverments from around the world are going to order millions of these devices to be fitted into the brains of their army force. So forget the nuclear bombs, think of this. The lifestyle of the human will change, there wont be any heart attack, no cancer no disease you will have a sheild against diseases as small as the comman cold.Just one question, Mr.Kurzweil,if you get this devices, and you have kids, will they be robots too?

Even with the simplest of machines, take a calculator for example, malfunctions at one point of it’s life so immortal, I think not.War and accidents combined together make up 20 % of the world’s deaths so you arent really immortal then are you?I think this machine is brilliant but like any other machine, not quite perfect.

The New/Old Wild Card to Raymond Davis Case–Man Who Sued Bush for Trillions

21 02 2011

[How does Mohammed Adnan Bhutta, an American limo driver, arrested at a Burger King near Flint, Michigan, move back to Pakistan and suddenly he's a doctor?]

Man seeks trillions in wrongful arrest suit

MLive.com ^ | July 5, 2005 | Ken Palmer

Posted on Tuesday, July 05, 2005 1:11:52 PM by wmichgrad

It’s not about the money, insists Mohammed Adnan Bhutta.

Never mind that his federal lawsuit asks for $165 trillion – that’s $165,000,000,000,000 – from a long list of Genesee County police and court officials, as well as President Bush and former Attorney General John Ashcroft.

Bhutta, a Pakistani-born limousine driver, says he was tortured, humiliated and otherwise mistreated by local police and federal agents who confused him with a terrorist in the weeks after Sept. 11, 2001.

“This is nothing to do about money. I’m making a point here. I’m totally innocent. I want to clear my name,” said Bhutta, 40, who wrote and filed the lawsuit himself in U.S. District Court.

Bhutta’s saga began when he was arrested at a Burger King restaurant on Fenton Road in Burton on Nov. 11, 2001.

The Jamaica, N.Y., resident said he was set up by his estranged wife, who attended Baker College at the time.

Police reports and court records show the woman obtained a personal protection order against Bhutta in October 2001 and complained that he was stalking her. She later had the marriage annulled.

Bhutta was charged with aggravated stalking and eventually pleaded guilty to unlawfully posting a message to his ex-wife over the Internet, the records show.

Bhutta said federal agents confused him with a terrorist on the FBI’s most wanted list and wrongfully accused him of helping in the attack on the World Trade Center.

The wanted man, Ibrahim Salih Mohammed Al-Yacoub, was indicted in Virginia in the 1996 bombing of the Khobar Towers military housing complex in Saudi Arabia. Bhutta said his name was Mohammed Yaqub before he legally changed it in 1991.

Bhutta was jailed for 26 days after his arrest at the restaurant, his first arrest in Genesee County, and for 15 days after being arrested a second time in 2002, he said.

During his time in jail, he said, he was interrogated and mistreated by local police, the FBI and jail guards.

His lawsuit claims a Flint Township detective threatened to shoot him with a gun, cut apart the Quran with a knife and stepped on it while interrogating him.

“I was placed in solitary confinement, forced to sleep on the floor without a mattress or blanket,” the suit says. “I was given pork to eat three times a day because they knew it was against my religion.”

None of the named defendants is commenting about the allegations.

Officials with the FBI and U.S. attorney’s office in Flint and Detroit said they were unaware of the suit and declined comment. Flint Township officials, including Peter Goodstein, township attorney and Chief George Sippert, did not respond to interview requests by The Flint Journal.

Genesee County Sheriff Robert J. Pickell declined to comment.

The suit was filed in New York and transferred to the Eastern District of Michigan.

The list of defendants include the U.S. Department of Justice, the FBI, Central District Judge Richard L. Hughes and various other court and probation officials in Genesee County.

Burger King had been named as a defendant but was dropped from the litigation in April. Since then, there has been no activity in the case, court records show.

Township police became aware of Bhutta in October 2001, when his wife filed the first of several harassment complaints against him, according to reports obtained under the Freedom of Information Act.

The woman said Bhutta began sexually, physically and mentally abusing her after they were married in August 2001 in New York.

She claimed he repeatedly called her by telephone in violation of the protective order and made various threats to her or her family in Pakistan.

Bhutta’s behavior and guilty plea in the criminal case do not mean his civil rights allegations are groundless, said a lawyer who looked into the case.

Haaris Ahmad, the former executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said Bhutta seemed shaken after being released from jail and remained consistent with his allegations.

Ahmad said CAIR voiced concerns to jail officials about Bhutta’s treatment but didn’t find a systemic problem.

“I think he wants to make a point,” Ahmad said of Bhutta. “It shows he’s been psychologically scarred by this incident, and he just wants people to hear his story and know this happened to him.”

Pak doctor claims Raymond Davis was chasing him in Lahore

Davis killed people to threaten me: US citizen

LAHORE

A Pakistan-born US national has alleged the incident of Qartaba Chowk was meant to threaten him for withdrawing the case he had filed against former US President George W Bush.

Addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club on Sunday, Dr Adnan Bhutta, who is currently serving in Lahore General Hospital, disclosed that he had been under surveillance by the members of the US organisation Blackwater for last many days and the killing of two Pakistanis by Raymond Davis occurred just before the workshop which he had been visiting regularly.

Dr Adnan Bhutta on the occasion also claimed that he had also seen some ‘white’ people chasing him for many days and Raymond Davis was also one of them. Adnan Bhutta told the media that he had gone to the US in 1983 for education [18 years old in 83, changed name in '91--ed.] and also got the degree of directorate from West Indies, a neighbouring area of the US after which he returned to America.

He said he was staying in the US when the incident of 9/11/2001 occurred and he was taken into custody due to a ‘mistaken identity’ as his name was similar to Adnan Shukri Juma, a terror suspect in the World Trade Centre episode. He said he was arrested by the US police on 11-11-2001 and was humiliated, tortured and investigated inhumanly. Meanwhile, Adnan said, that his father, who was in Pakistan, wrote a letter to the then US President George Bush and informed him that his son had been arrested mistakenly. Adnan said afterwards he was released by the US police and he decided to file a damages suit of $165 trillion dollars at Federal Court of Detroit, Michigan, on January 20, 2005. Dr Adnan Bhutta stated that he remained under constant surveillance by the US police which caused a great mental agony to him. He said he was threatened on phone by the FBI officials after which he decided to quit the US and to return to Pakistan. He said that even at the airport, FBI officials once again threatened him that he would be traced out anywhere in the world.

He said he returned to Pakistan on March 22, 2006 and got a job in the LGH. Bhutta said that after five months of his return, he noticed that a vehicle with tinted glasses was tracing him sometimes. “I ignored it in the beginning but on the day when the incident of Qartaba Chowk occurred, a white vehicle driven by a white foreigner started chasing him,” he said. He said he had informed his friend on cell phone about the chase after which his friend advised him not to worry and just reach Ichhra where he had been waiting for me.

Adnan said he took his friend with him from Ichhra and both went to the workshop get his car repaired at Qartaba Chowk. He said as they were on way to the workshop, they heard some gunshots after which a white car was rushing away from the scene. Adnan Bhutta also disclosed that it was worth mentioning that just a few days before the incident of Qartaba Chowk he had contacted his lawyer to re open the case against George Bush after which his chase started in Pakistan. He alleged that Blackwater was behind all this episode and keeping in view the threats to his life, he demanded protection from Punjab police. To a question, Adnan, who possessed dual nationality, said that the Blackwater wanted to terrorise him to withdraw his case. When asked why didn’t he take up the issue with the high-ups of the Pakistanis administration, he replied he didn’t want to spoil his peace of mind and preferred to remain silent. He said that he must be provided with security and informed the media to take up the issue before the police high ups.

Drone Strike Near Wana To Demonstrate Raymond Davis’s Irrelevance

21 02 2011

[This strike is within a few kilometers of the Durand Line, meaning that militants could have been spotted milling around one of Wana's many abandoned training camps, providing the Predators a shot without any of Davis' assets planting a tracking chip.  This opportunity to dispute the theory that Davis is a coordinator for the drone murder program may also signal a surrender of the Pak govt to US pressure.  It is more likely that this attack is intended to put the hounds off the trail.  We will know the truth of the matter if normal drone operations resume, or Davis is released.  In my mind, the govt is too afraid of a Mubarrak reaction to release him now.]

Drone attack kills 6 in S.Waziristan

Drone attack kills 6 in S.Waziristan

In Southern Waziristan, a drone attack killed 6 extremists near Wana. This was the first drone attack of 2011 in Waziristan. According to sources, the number of fatalities is expected to rise. According to the government sources, at 12:15 in the night, an American drone attacked a militant training center 13kms west of Wana in southern Waziristan. The foreigners at the training center were targeted as 4 missiles were fired from the drone.

7 foreign militants killed in US drone attack in northwest Pak

Peshawar, Feb 21 (PTI)

Seven foreign militants were killed as the US carried out the first drone strike in Pakistan’s restive tribal belt since an American official was arrested last month for gunning down two men in Lahore, officials said today.

Unmanned spy planes targeted a militant compound in the volatile South Waziristan tribal region of northwest Pakistan early this morning.

The drones fired four missiles at the compound in Kara Panga village near Wana, the headquarters of the region.

All those killed in the drone strike were believed to be foreign fighters, officials said.
The attack was the first one after US official Raymond Davis was arrested in Lahore on January 27 for shooting and killing two men who he said were trying to rob him.

A third Pakistani died when he was hit by a US consulate vehicle rushing to help Davis.
The last drone strike before Davis’ arrest was carried out on January 23.

Reports said the US had halted attacks with spy planes so that anti-American sentiments would not increase in Pakistan in the wake of Davis’ arrest.

Analysts believed the development was also linked to US attempts to secure the release of Davis.

The CIA had significantly stepped up the missile strikes in mid-2010 after Western intelligence agencies uncovered a plot by militants based in Pakistan’s tribal belt to attack European cities.

The arrest of Davis triggered a diplomatic row between Pakistan and the US, which has insisted that the American should be released on grounds of diplomatic immunity.

WARNING–Explicit Details of Degrading Sexual Attack on Lara Logan in Egypt

21 02 2011

[(see comment below before reading--ed.)

If the Egyptian mobs harbor enough anti-American hostility to do the following to S. African reporter Lara Logan,

because they thought that she was an American and a Jew,

then there is very little chance that an American-picked "unity govt," acceptable to the masses, can be put together.  This is brutal testimony that Egyptians think that they have overthrown the Americans, as well as Mubarrak.

Prepare to be disgusted...this woman is extremely lucky to be alive.]

MEDIA-CENSORED SHOCKING DETAILS of the Muslim sexual attack on Lara Logan in Egypt

They attacked her because she is a non-Muslim woman (considered “white meat” to Muslims) and mistakenly thought her to be a Jew. But attacks like this on Muslim women are not uncommon in the Muslim world either, as BNI readers know.

Wizbang(H/T Maria)CBS international reporter Lara Logan is a well known public figure. And CBS and other media have accepted that she was brutally assaulted. However, Youtube and some Arab Websites are offering some further claimed shocking details not reported by the U.S. media and even some video about the extreme brutality of the attack on CBS reporter Lara Logan . Reportedly, some videos did show a crowd of about 200 or more men surround and separate Lara Logan from her security, and the crowd shouted “Jew, Jew!”, and “American bitch!”. Lara Logan is not Jewish or American, she’s a South African native.

Reportedly some of physical and sexual assault activity was caught on camera phones as well. One video purportedly involved some boy fondling the breasts of the reporter. However, another purported video that was described by a controversial YouTube video claims that a bearded man ripped the top off the reporter and began slapping her face and breasts. He then pinned her to the ground, and by this time she stopped resisting, apparently accepting the fact that she was overpowered. The bearded man then removed her pants and masturbated in front of her before raping her. He also reportedly clawed at her breasts with his hands. The YouTube video claims that at least six men raped her vaginally, and a number of men also raped her anally as well. She was reportedly masturbated on and urinated on by some men as well according to the YouTube video claims which was supposed to be pieced together from information and videos posted on Arab Websites and other sources.

It was claimed by various reports that the sexual assault and beatings might have lasted anywhere from 20-30 minutes on the short side, and as long as about 3 hours on the other hand. It was also claimed that her left breast might have been bitten or might even had the left nipple bitten off as well. One report claims that somewhere from 6 to about 50 men might have sexually assaulted or beat the attractive reporter.

One one hand, Lara Logan deserves her privacy. On the other hand being a major public figure, this international crime story is a very important one. It is also important to understand how anti-Americanism seemed to play a major role in the extreme level of brutality here. Reportedly, the reporter was left bloody, with semen and urine on her as the crowd shouted anti-American slogans. This reporter deserves far better respect than these claims of the brutality suggest. This mob violence against an attractive reporter who risks her life by reporting from the world’s hot spots only illustrates the type of danger that reporters potentially face when they report the news.

The assault on Lara Logan illustrates just how much order has recently broken down in the MidEast region which is now far more dangerous for Westerners. Further, some dangerous heads of Al Qaeda have been released from prison in places like Libya as rioting crowds demanded that political prisoners are released. When reporter Lara Logan heals from her injuries, she will no doubt bravely go right back to reporting on all the perils of this region.

Vicious, vile, so-called conservative blogger, DEBBIE SCHLUSSEL who attacks other anti-Islam bloggers like Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer, as well as many other conservatives thinks Lara Logan deserved this attack.

How did Saudi Jihad get blamed on Iran and Iraq?

21 02 2011

How did Saudi Jihad get blamed on Iran and Iraq?

Every news broadcaster and journalist talks or writes about The Arab World as if all of the Middle East and North Africa speaks Arabic and is still part of an Arab Empire, which was actually overthrown by the Turks centuries ago.

The Empire which was divided up by the United Nations after the World Wars was the Ottoman Empire of the Turks, who were slaves of the original Arab Empire, and who overthrew them in a slave revolt and then ruled most of the Middle East and North Africa for about 800 years. So what Arab World do they mean? The Turks speak Turkish, and the Iranians speak Persian!

The original Abbasid Caliphate, which the Jihadists think want to return to, and would not if they knew the truth of its history, was not even created by the Prophet Mohammed, but arose after his death. What was divided up by Churchill and Roosevelt was the Ottoman Empire of the Turks into various Muslim States (including Persian Iran, and Turkey), one Jewish State (Israel), and one Christian/Muslim State (Lebanon). So if there is an Arab World, as opposed to a Muslim World, Churchill and Roosevelt created it.

Jihad did not start in the Muslim World, but in the Arab state of Saudi Arabia, a new kingdom which only came into being in the early 20th century, when the Sauds and the Wahhabis defeated the other Arab tribes of Saudi Arabia. The deal done between the two victor tribes was that the Sauds got to be the royalty, and the Wahhabis got to rule religion.

To keep the Wahhabis happy vast sums of oil wealth was used by the Sauds to establish mosques all over the West, and man them with fundamentalist Wahhabi clerics. It is from these mosques that Jihad has spread in the West. Nothing whatsoever to do with either Iran or Iraq. It is the Wahhabis that interpret Palestine as Arab Land, and Palestinians are the only group of immigrants not allowed statehood or welfare in Saudi Arabia. The doctrine of hate of any unbeliever of Wahhabi doctrine is spread through the schools attached to all the mosques of the west.

And if the world was surprised at how the Egyptian army was being paid by American Aid, check out how much American and British arms have been sold to Saudi Arabia – more by far than to Israel. The United States sold more than $80 billion in military hardware to Saudi Arabia between 1951- 2006. To fight which enemy? On 20 October 1910, US State Department notified Congress of its intention to make the biggest arms sale in American history – an estimated $60.5 billion purchase by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The UK has also been a major supplier of arms to Saudi Arabia – the long term Al Yamamah arms deal being part of this.

By propping up the Sauds, whom Bin Laden sees as corrupt, America and Britain have dragged the world into Jihad.

And the Wahabbi version of Islam bears no relationship to the teachings of the Quran, but has much more to do with Arab tribal culture. Which is why these fundamentalists, far from protecting the holy sites, have destroyed most historical records in Mecca and Medina. It is estimated that about 95 percent of Meccas historic buildings, most over a thousand years old, have been destroyed – including the mosque built by the prophet Mohammed’s daughter Fatima, the house of the Prophet Mohammed’s wife Khadijah which was demolished for building public toilets, and the house of Ali-Oriad the grandson of the Prophet which was demolished to build the Kings palace.

And this new Arab Empire runs on slavery, just like the original Arab Empire, although theoretically slavery was abolished legally in 1962.

In its greed for Saudi oil, the West has turned a blind eye to all abuses in Saudi Arabia and fought its enemies for it. 15 out of the 19 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia? So America and Britain invade Shia Iraq instead of Sunni Saudi Arabia?

The boundaries of Israel were actually drawn by the Sauds and Churchill on a yacht in Malta – Roosevelt claimed he was ill and did not attend, and the Jews were neither invited nor consulted – pandering to the need for Saudi oil.

The first successful Muslim (NOT Arab) Revolt might have been in Tunisia and Egypt; but the first unsuccessful one was in Saudi Arabi where on 29 January 2011 hundreds of protesters got arrested in Jeddah and their peaceful protest stopped by police.

Most of these facts, and a great deal more, can be found in Wikipedia.

Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar: Beacon of Hope for Suffering Humanity [Paperback]

Garda Ghista (Author)

Editorial Reviews

Product Description

The book constitutes a brief introduction to the economic paradigm called PROUT, an acronym for Progressive Utilization Theory, as well as a brief introduction to its founder, Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (1921-1990). PROUT is considered by the author to be a solution to 80 percent of human suffering, as that suffering is caused primariliy by faulty economic structures wherein there is economic centralization, i.e., where economic power rests in the hands of a few wealthy elite, be they corporate CEOs or party bureacrats. In contrast, PROUT advocates for economic decentralization, where economic power rests with the local people, where each community, village and town controls its own local economy, where maximum emphasis is placed on developing local, ecologically and economically sustainable communities having their own ample water supplies, growing their own agricultural produce, developing their own agri- and agrico-industries, and with resulting revenue building their own educational system, medcal clinics and hospital, and especially low-cost homes for the deeply impoverished human beings. The cooperative business model forms the bedrock of the PROUT paradigm, with the goal being to run all companies as cooperatives and to eventually create a cooperative commonwealth, a vast network of cooperatives interlinking and networking with one another so as to create something akin to utopia on earth, with people working in their own cooperatively owned banks and schools, living in their own cooperative housing, growing their own cooperatively owned agricultural produce and developing more and more cooperatively managed agrico-industries. With cooperatives as the bedrock, PROUT becomes a win-win situation. The solutions to the present economic chaos around the world are simple. The book presents those solutions in straightforward, easy to grasp language, and is addressed to all those people who comprise ‘suffering humanity’ so that they can learn of this new economic alternative which can become the panacea for the poor – the alternative called PROUT.  The book also presents the remarkable – nay astounding – personality of the man who founded the PROUT paradigm – Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar.

From the Back Cover

Who was this propounder of the Prout economic model, which is panacea for the poor around the world, and whose principles he created only to alleviate the unbounded agonies, humiliations and sufferings of human beings everywhere? Some were beginning to whisper that Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar was a man of unprecedented love, compassion, magnanimity and uncompromising morality such as the world had never seen. Shrii Sarkar was founder of the simple yet simultaneously vast and possibly complex paradigm called Prout, which stands for Progressive Utilization Theory. Its basic theme is progressive utilization and rational distribution of the earth’s natural resources. It is not so complicated. The earth has plenty of resources to feed and nurture the entire human population of seven billion. And yet, a handful of greedy men hoard 90 percent of those resources for themselves alone. For this very reason, we have enormous human suffering pervading every corner of the earth. Prout is the socio-economic-political side of Shrii Sarkar’s total philosophy that mingles multiple concepts of spiritual, economic, political, social and cultural liberation. It is a critical aspect of his entire ideology, because in order to create a heaven on earth for the people of the earth, we need to first remove the great social ills besetting our planet. We also need to obliterate the existing economic paradigms which wreak havoc around the world with their hidden doctrines of intentionally increasing impoverization and ensuing massive suffering and starvation. Thus, Prout remains an absolute necessity to mitigate and then remove the sufferings of humanity and to pave the way for a golden dawn on earth.

Jittery Chinese authorities wary of any domestic dissent staged a concerted show of force Sunday to squelch a mysterious online call for a “Jasmine Revolution” apparently modeled after pro-democracy demonstrations sweeping the Middle East.

Authorities detained activists, increased the number of police on the streets, disconnected some mobile phone text messaging services and censored Internet postings about the call to stage protests at 2 p.m. in Beijing, Shanghai and 11 other major cities.

The campaign did not gain much traction among ordinary citizens and the chances of overthrowing the Communist government are slim, considering Beijing’s tight controls over the media and Internet. A student-led, pro-democracy movement in 1989 was crushed by the military and hundreds, perhaps thousands, were killed.

On Sunday, police took at least three people away in Beijing, one of whom tried to lay down white jasmine flowers while hundreds of people milled about the protest gathering spot, outside a McDonald’s on the capital’s busiest shopping street. In Shanghai, police led away three people near the planned protest spot after they scuffled in an apparent bid to grab the attention of passers-by.

Many activists said they didn’t know who was behind the campaign and weren’t sure what to make of the call to protest, which first circulated Saturday on the U.S.-based, Chinese-language news website Boxun.com.

The unsigned notice called for a “Jasmine revolution” – the name given to the Tunisian protest movement – and urged people “to take responsibility for the future.” Participants were urged to shout, “We want food, we want work, we want housing, we want fairness” – a slogan that highlights common complaints among Chinese.

The call is likely to fuel anxiety among China’s authoritarian government, which is ever alert for domestic discontent and has appeared unnerved by recent protests in Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Yemen, Algeria and Libya. It has limited media reports about them, stressing the instability caused by the protests, and restricted Internet searches to keep Chinese uninformed about Middle Easterners’ grievances against their autocratic rulers.

On Saturday in a speech to national and provincial officials, President Hu Jintao ordered them to “solve prominent problems which might harm the harmony and stability of the society.”

Balochs Endure Violent Sifting In Frontier Corps. Search Operation In Khuzdar

20 02 2011

Editorial: The Undemocratic Republic of Frontier Corps (FC)

In a fresh operation in Khuzdar’s Thotak locality on Friday, the Frontier Corps (FC)killed two young activists of the Baloch Students Organization (BSO-Azad). The federal paramilitary force, which does not have even five percent Baloch representation in its overall composition, surrounded the locality in the early hours of Friday, reported the local residents. Later on, a massive operation was carried out against the civilian population in the midst of all communication system disrupted.

There is no official explanation yet as to why such a heavy contingent of forces was sent to Thotak as early as 4:00 a.m. The local residents insist that it was a preplanned operation intended to scare the local people and maintain FC’s  uncalled for influence over the civilians. Besides the killing of two young residents of the area, the FC also injured a lot of citizens by applying brute force. At least thirty others have been whisked away and the homes of the local population were set ablaze.

The fresh operation in Thotak has understandably ignited fire across Balochistan. Different opposition parties such as the Baloch National Front, the Baloch Republican Party and Baloch National Voice have strongly condemned the incident. The Azad faction of the BSO held protest rallies in Karachi, Quetta and Pasni to renounce the use of force by the security forces against unarmed civilians. In Turbat, the BSO observed a shutter down strike.

The role of the Frontier Corps in Balochistan has always come under blistering criticism. By and large, the FC is accused to have established a more powerful government in the province than the actual elected democratic government. In fact, actions taken by the FC, often without the approval of the Balochistan government, do not only embarrass the provincial government but they also drastically contribute to the failure of initiatives taken by the democratic government to make peace in the troubled province.

There was a little ray of hope in Balochistan concerning the improvement of FC’s relationship with the civil population after the former FC Inspector General, Major General Saleem Nawaz, who was widely considered as a hawk from the country’s security establishment, was transferred from the province. In our editorial, we suggested the newly appointed IGFC to play his role in de-escalating tensions. Unfortunately, there are no signs of sanity prevailing in the minds of the big guns in the FC. It continues to run a rogue parallel government inside Balochistan.

We have time and again reminded the FC to adhere to the law of the land and refrain from playing an extra-constitutional role. The onus of solving problems lies with the elected democratic government while the task to maintain peace is entrusted to the provincial police. The FC has become a constant source of irritation for the masses and a cause of distraction and interference for the provincial government and the police department. Oblivious to the Baloch traditions, antagonistic actions by the FC will only alienate the local people and contribute to the problems of the provincial government.

Balochistan’s is purely a political problem which can be settled through political dialogue. Islamabad must dismantle the undemocratic government the F.C. has established in itself. In the short run, the FC has to be stopped from its unauthorized and illegal operations across Balochistan and, in the long run, it has to be reformed in order to make it a more represented,  civilized and professional force which does not remain a source of trouble for the masses.
