Police looking for ‘suicide bomber’ headed for airport

RAWALPINDI: Police have launched a manhunt for a youth who showed a suicide vest to a car owner and forced him to drive him to Benazir Bhutto International Airport, before fleeing near the airport. Khaqan Javed, the car owner, told the police a teenager forcibly got into his car and ordered him to take him to Islamabad. Javed said when he reached Flying Club, near the airport, the suspected terrorist hit him on the head and escaped as Javed lost consciousness. City Police Officer Rao Muhammad Iqbal confirmed the incident and said an investigation team led by Potohar Town Superintendent of Police Sardar Maqsood had been formed. He said security in the city had been heightened and the police were trying to arrest the suspected terrorist.
