Sarah Palin Nails Obama On Health/Death Plan

Statement on the Current Health Care Debate
As more Americans delve into the disturbing details of the nationalized health care plan that the current administration is rushing through Congress, our collective jaw is dropping, and we’re saying not just no, but hell no!

The Democrats promise that a government health care system will reduce the cost of health care, but as the economist Thomas Sowell has pointed out, government health care will not reduce the cost; it will simply refuse to pay the cost. And who will suffer the most when they ration care? The sick, the elderly, and the disabled, of course. The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.

Health care by definition involves life and death decisions. Human rights and human dignity must be at the center of any health care discussion.

Rep. Michele Bachmann highlighted the Orwellian thinking of the president’s health care advisor, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the brother of the White House chief of staff, in a floor speech to the House of Representatives. I commend her for being a voice for the most precious members of our society, our children and our seniors.

We must step up and engage in this most crucial debate. Nationalizing our health care system is a point of no return for government interference in the lives of its citizens. If we go down this path, there will be no turning back. Ronald Reagan once wrote, “Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.” Let’s stop and think and make our voices heard before it’s too late.

Baku Surprised by Berdimuhamedov’s Inflammatory Statement

[Pending legal battle over Caspian exposes Nabucco as Western mirage.  Baking in a desert of their own rhetoric, US and allies hallucinate a solution to their energy problems, remaining militant and delusional to the very end.]

Baku Surprised by Berdimuhamedov’s Inflammatory Statement

Publication: Eurasia Daily Monitor Volume: 6 Issue: 151
Turkmenistan’s President, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

On July 24 Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov declared his country’s intention to take Azerbaijan to the international court of arbitration (ICA) over disputed oil fields. This announcement has shocked the Azeri government. Berdimuhamedov, speaking at a cabinet meeting, blamed Azerbaijan for the unsettled legal status of the Caspian Sea and instructed his ministers to “gather all legal evidence and apply to the ICA.” Berdimuhamedov also threatened transnational oil companies, working in the area, with demands for compensation, should the ICA decide in favor of Turkmenistan (Kommersant, July 24).

Political circles in Azerbaijan did not expect such a radical gesture from Ashgabat. The bilateral relationship between the two Caspian states has markedly improved in the past three years, since the death of former Turkmen President Saparmurat Niyazov (Turkmenbashi). Although Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan were at odds over the division of the Caspian Sea and the legal status of the oil fields located in the area, the “cold war” between them quickly eroded as the new Turkmen president sought to normalize relations with Baku.

Both countries have set up an inter-governmental commission to deal with economic issues. They have also agreed on the restructuring of a $44 million Azerbaijani debt and Turkmenistan has resumed the work of its embassy in Baku. Berdimuhamedov visited Baku in May 2008, which was the first such high level visit since 1996, and met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev. Both leaders have declared a “new stage” in their bilateral relations and vowed to increase mutually beneficial trade and economic projects (Radio Free Europe, May 21, 2008). As one of the first practical steps in this direction, an international oil and gas conference was held in Baku in September 2008, which focused on bilateral energy issues. President Aliyev visited Ashgabat together with the Turkish President Abdullah Gul in November (Trend News Agency, November 21, 2008).

The steadily warming relationship increased hopes in European circles and amongst investors that Turkmenistan would gradually start exporting its gas to European markets through Azerbaijan and thus enhance the chances for the U.S. and E.U.-backed Nabucco pipeline. Turkmenistan, with an estimated fifth largest gas reserves in the world, presents a valuable opportunity for Eastern European countries to reduce their energy dependence on Russia for the import of natural gas. On July 13 the prime ministers of Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Austria finally agreed and signed an inter-governmental agreement on the construction of the $11.5 billion Nabucco pipeline (EDM, July 17).

However, the new and unexpected dispute emerging between Baku and Ashgabat, not only risks the future of Nabucco but might also impact negatively on other regional projects. The prospects for the resolution of the Caspian Sea’s legal status would also be severely diminished should Turkmenistan take Azerbaijan to the ICA. Much needed foreign direct investment into Turkmenistan’s gas sector might be affected as a result of the renewed uncertainty over the disputed fields.

Although Baku has avoided any over-reaction to the controversial statement made by Berdimuhamedov, several individuals closely associated with the government have already spoken out. Rustam Mammadov, a professor at Baku state university and the most prominent lawyer in the country in the field of international law, warned that “Turkmenistan will ruin the negotiations on the legal status of the Caspian Sea and will not gain anything from this appeal. There are no normative acts on this problem and the dispute should be resolved based on mutual agreement and trust” (www.day.az, July 25).

One Member of Parliament Vahid Ahmadov, an economist, suggested that any disagreement between the two countries should be resolved in working meetings. Nonetheless, the political scientist Rasim Musabeyov stated that “the court can make a legal decision, which might appease both sides” (www.day.az, July 25).

However, most experts in Azerbaijan believe that appealing to the court might finally put an end to this decade long dispute. There are also those who believe that Turkmenistan is acting on orders from Moscow, in order to disrupt the prospects for the Nabucco pipeline. However, relations between Russia and Turkmenistan have recently been strained and Ashgabat has openly expressed an interest in alternative ways to export its gas to E.U. markets. It is unclear in Baku as to whether Turkmenistan’s president has made a calculated move, or spoken rashly. In any case, Azerbaijan seems determined to maintain normal relations with its Caspian neighbor for the time being.

The Fall of the House of Windsor (the house of cards is coming down on our heads)

The Fall of the House of Windsor

Lyndon LaRouche gave this webcast address , transcribed below, in Northern Virginia, on Aug. 1, 2009.

The webcast was hosted by LaRouche’s national spokeswoman Debra Freeman. The entire webcast is archived at www.larouchepac.com. A transcript of the Dialogue with LaRouche which followed LaRouche’s opening statement, is available here. A PDF version of the address and dialogue which followed, is available here.

The crisis point from which to reference the present U.S. and world situation, is the period from the 2nd of October through about the 10th or 12th of October of this year. As of that time, the already, totally hopelessly bankrupt United States will have crashed entirely, politically, and will be in a process of disintegration—unless that process has started earlier. And it could start very early, in this present month of August.

For example: To understand the politics of the situation, you have about 30%, or more, of the entire population, that is, the labor force, that is unemployed. One-third of that group, about one-third, is actually receiving compensation for unemployment, or is about to receive it, technically. The other two-thirds are not. This amount is increasing at a rate, monthly, of up to 800,000, a million people, or more. This is the way it’s going. The only reason the unemployment rate tends to decrease, is because the number of employed people is decreasing. By the end of August, this will be a catastrophe.

This is now the beginning of a riotous period, as the members of Congress—or the dis-members of Congress—become dismembered and go back to their home states, where they are going to be hiding from the citizens there, who are about to lynch them.

Wall Street and the rest of the world is completely in a world of unreality. The President is clinically insane—I can say that’s not an exaggeration, that’s a matter of fact. This guy is not in the real world. And he’s not good, he’s evil. There’s no question that his policies on health care are absolutely identical to those of Adolf Hitler, beginning officially September of 1939: a policy which Hitler had intended earlier, as he had said, but he didn’t dare introduce it, until the war had started, because he believed that only under wartime conditions could he get by with a stunt like that.

So, we’re dealing with a President, who is committed deliberately to a policy of genocide! And if you look at the way Hitler’s policy of genocide proceeded, from September, especially from Oct. 1, of that year, until the end, till the end of him, you see that the Obama and his friends in London—because he’s run from London, not the from United States; he’s run by the British monarchy, not by the voters of the United States—are moving exactly in that direction. If you don’t stop Obama’s health-care policy now, you will not have a United States. You will have something worse than Hitler produced, because it will be on a global scale, not limited to some part of the planet.

So therefore, we have to change these things, and change them now.

Catastrophe Is Increasing

But! As of October 2nd-10th, approximately, this system is finished. The states are bankrupt! The rate of unemployment is increasing! Catastrophe is increasing! There will never be a recovery of the present world monetary system! There will never be a recovery of the economy, under the present financial system! It is impossible. We’re finished! Unless we change.

Now, I first announced this problem, that we had turned into a breakdown crisis of the United States’ economy, on the 25th of July 2007. Three days later, that began—with what liars call the “subprime crisis.” What actually happened was the beginning of a general breakdown crisis of the international financial-monetary system.

And the crack came at the weakest point in the whole system, which was the subprime region. Now the subprime region was simply a region, where they had extended real estate debt, as a way of trying to prop up this system temporarily. And therefore, they went into the so-called subprime area, where people were overindebted, and could never pay these things, simply as a way of trying to build up credibility for credit to maintain what was called Wall Street, and the international system of that type. Three days after I said this was going to happen, it happened. And it’s happened all the way through, to the present time. This system, this entire financial system, is finished.

Now, what they did was worse: I prescribed at that point, measures of national bankruptcy reorganization, of a Roosevelt type. If those things had been adopted, then—and there was a big popularity for some of this in the United States in that period—many local citizenries voted for my proposal, on a Homeowners and Bank Protection Act. It was killed. There were leading Senators and others; there were leading governors and others, who were for this! But it was killed. It was killed in the Congress; it was killed from the White House: They went for bailout!

As a result of the bailout, and the continuation of that bailout policy, and the looting of our banks, which was done by these people—instead of protecting the banks, instead of protecting the homeowners, they looted them! They looted the economy. They destroyed the economy!

We have one-third, approximately, of our labor force in jeopardy. One-third of that one-third is now receiving unemployment compensation or similar compensation. Two-thirds are not! Now, what happens to people, if they don’t get some succor over the coming months, the coming two months, August and September? How are they going to live, if they have absolutely no income? This is a growing part of the population, in this condition. What do you think is going to happen to those members of Congress, when they get back to their districts now? After the closing of the session of the House of Representatives and the closing of the Senate? What are the citizens doing to them now?

The citizens out there are ready to lynch the members of Congress—including members of Congress, who for a long time they have supported, again and again, in terms in office! And these once-popular, once-unchallengeable members of Congress, are now about to be lynched by their closest constituents back home. Why? Because you have people who have no means to live! Because of this Obama Administration! This Obaminable Administration. Call him Barry Obaminable. This is our situation.

Our People Are Starving

So now, people realize, that as of October 2nd to 10th or 12th, approximately, the entire system is coming down. This system is so rotten, it can never be saved in its present form. The present international monetary system, can not be saved, also. Because, if the United States collapses, as it is now scheduled to collapse—totally!—by the beginning of October, probably earlier; probably in August.

Because, you know, those people out there, who were starving, who have no income, who are increasing in great numbers, entire families, whole communities collapsing, state budgets collapsing: The state can’t perform functions, police forces laying off, everything else laid off, because the states are bankrupt. This process is going on now!  (read or listen here)

ISI Speaking-Out for Their American Bosses, Against the Interests of Pakistan

Secret move to shun Pak, Iran gas project

Shah Hasan

Islamabad—In a new development, Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) has jumped into the affairs of much touted Iran-Pakistan (IP) gas pipeline and has opposed the project putting some questions before the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources. The Agency has sought some alternatives to acquire energy in place of the said vital project.

There is no doubt that the most powerful country in the world — USA — has since long been opposing the project just to punish Iran who is hell bent upon becoming a nuclear power.

Washington has time and again asked Islamabad to refrain from entering the gas deal with Tehran. The US has managed to pull India out of the project by inking the civil nuclear deal, but did not offer anything to Pakistan as alternate of the project from which Pakistan will be able to cope with its energy crisis.

Now, another oil rich Muslim country, has come up with opposition of the IP project fearing Pakistan will tilt to Tehran.

It is quite ironic that no alternate solution has been given to the paralysing energy crisis that has actually mortgaged the routine life of the people of Pakistan and economy of the country.

The copy of the letter written by ISI to Special Secretary of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, Mr GA Sabri, and available with this scribe shows that anti IP gas pipeline project has its tentacles in country’s intelligence agencies and they have thought it appropriate to oppose the project without solid arguments.

However, the exact text of the Agency’s letter does not apparently oppose the project but it can easily be inferred that the agency is much interested to know the alternative options for power generation from indigenous and imported sources other than the gas to be imported from Paras field in Iran.

The Agency’s letter also stressed for the alternative options for the gas supply from indigenous resources including current and future explorations. Pakistan and India were close to the deal, but US played its card very well and succeed to keep India away from the project.

An official of the concerned Ministry told Pakistan Observer: “Pakistan, which has since long been in energy crisis has no other option, which will be practical and cheap than importing gas.” “Yes, we have option to import gas from Turkmenistan for which US and other donor agencies are facilitating to materialize the TAPI project—Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India.”

The TAP project is not feasible because of Afghanistan where the security to the pipeline cannot be ensured. Importing LNG and LPG in place of IP project is also too costly,” he said,

The official said as far as indigenous exploration of oil and gas is concerned that is linked with security issues in the country. Since long, no new exploration of oil and gas has taken place in Balochistan, which is rich of minerals.

The official said that the government has decided to table the IP project in the Parliament to get go ahead signal from Pakistan keeping in view the opposition from some influential lobbies in Pakistan and foreign powers.

PESHAWAR: Born in 1972, Baitullah Mehsud had to suffer an early childhood dislocation when he moved, along with his father, from his Nargosha village to Landi Dhok in Bannu, close to the South Waziristan tribal region.

His father served as a Pesh-Imam (prayer leader) in a mosque in Landi Dhok before moving to Miramshah in North Waziristan and there also he led prayers in a mosque. Baitullah got a little religious education in Miramshah’s Pepal Madressah.

And it was in Miramshah where Baitullah is believed to have come into contact with Taliban militants who persuaded him to join them in the fight against the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan. He fought well in Afghanistan and established himself as a fighter, a senior security officer, who himself belongs to the Mehsud tribe, recalled.

Baitullah returned to his native South Waziristan after the United States invaded Afghanistan and toppled the Taliban regime in November 2001.

He shot to prominence after the notorious Taliban commander in South Waziristan, Nek Mohammad, was killed in a missile attack in Wana in June 2004. But he keep a low profile when the one-legged former Guantanamo detainee, Abdullah Mehsud, reined supreme in the Mehsud territory.

His real chance to claim leadership came soon after Abdullah kidnapped two Chinese engineers in October 2004. Miffed that the fiery militant commander had picked up an unnecessary fight with Pakistan’s security forces, a shura of the local Taliban removed Abdullah Mehsud and handed over the command of the Taliban in South Waziristan to Baitullah.

Known for his cool-headedness, the military hailed Baitullah’s ascension, called him a soldier of peace and signed the Sara Rogha agreement with him in February 2005.

The peace agreement collapsed in a matter of months, with both sides accusing each other of violating its terms, leading to the beginning of hostilities that took a huge toll.

Baitullah proved himself a tough warrior, taking due advantage of a territory that was native and treacherous, by defeating two successive military operations.

He catapulted to the limelight when he took hundreds of Pakistani soldiers hostage in August 2007. It was perhaps because of this singular feat that militants in the length and breadth of Fata at a 20-member shura meeting chose him as leader of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan in December 2007.

Baitullah unleashed a wave of suicide bombings in Pakistan. Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani once told journalists that the TTP leader was behind almost all attacks inside Pakistan.

According to a UN report, Baitullah was behind 80 per cent of the suicide bombings in Afghanistan.

He gained in stature to the extent that The Time magazine rated him as one of the 100 most influential people in the world. Not to be left behind, The Newsweek described him as more dangerous than Osama bin Laden.

Accounts vary about the actual strength of his force, but intelligence agencies put the number of his fighting force at 20,000 to 30,000, including 2,000 to 3,000 foreign militants, mostly of Central Asian origin – Uzbeks and Chechens.

He ran a number of training camps, including those indoctrinating suicide bombers – a weapon – he once called his own atom bombs.

A short-stocky man, Baitullah suffered from diabetes that once prompted reports of serious illness and then death in late 2008. Much to the disappointment of many, the man bounced back to host a big feast of lamb and rice to celebrate his second marriage to a daughter of the local influential tribal leader, Malik Ikramuddin. He, however, remained issueless.

According to one account, he was also the ghost writer of a book in Urdu, Carvan-i-Baitullah Mehsud, using the pen-name of Abu Munib. In the book, he described his ideology, war strategy and details pertaining to his movement.

The United States had announced a $5 million bounty on Baitullah’s head in March this year. But it took Pakistan several months before making up its mind to declare him as Pakistan’s enemy number one and announce a reward of Rs50 million for his capture, dead or alive, in June.

Trouble began to emerge for the TTP leader when the government announced the launching of a military operation against him in June. No ground offensive was launched and the government changed its tactics to use air strikes and artillery, besides imposing an effective economic blockade to stop fuel and food supply to the area. Thousands of Mehsuds fled the area.

He was under pressure both from within his own Mehsud clan, which wanted him to ease it off with the government, and his commanders who egged him on to fight off the military. For the first time, his decision and thought-making process was shaky, an official familiar with the situation in the area said.

He wouldn’t stay in one place for two months and would constantly change places. His nerves were on edge, he remarked.

It is useless to run away. I know some day, one day they will come and get me, one senior official quoted Baitullah as telling a fellow Mehsud tribesman.

Little did the man, described by a senior security official as someone with fox-like instincts to sense danger, suspect that he was exposing himself to a missile target by relaxing with his younger wife on a roof in Zanghara, South Waziristan.

Taliban commander denies Mehsud dead: report

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) – A fellow commander in the Pakistani Taliban insisted that Baitullah Mehsud, the movement’s leader, was alive, the BBC reported on Saturday, rejecting government claims he had been eliminated in a U.S. drone strike.

Hakimullah Mehsud, one of the most powerful commanders in the tribal region, described reports of Mehsud’s death as “ridiculous” and said it was “the handiwork of the intelligence agencies,” the BBC Urdu service website said.

Mehsud DNA Testing: Anatomy of a Set-up

Govt to confirm Baitullah’s death through DNA test

LAHORE: The government would collect DNA samples from the body of Baitullah’s brother who was killed in Bannu during a military operation, a private TV channel quoted Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday. Malik told the channel that the government would tally the DNA samples with that of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan commander Baitullah Mehsud. To a question, he said Baitullah’s samples could be obtained from the objects and utensils he had been using.

Pakistan: US Diplomats Carrying Loaded Guns

Pakistan: US Diplomats Carrying Loaded Guns

by Amir Mir, Journalist, July 7, 2009

The increasing sense of insecurity among the American diplomatic staff stationed in Pakistan can be gauged from the fact that most of them are carrying loaded guns and other such weapons on the pretext of self-protection while moving around in the federal capital.

This embarrassing development for Pakistan’s government came to light recently when several US diplomats in different instances were intercepted by Islamabad police while carrying guns and other weapons. But police authorities had to let them off because of the diplomatic immunity they enjoy. However, in view of the rising number of such incidents taking place in the federal capital, Islamabad police have sought a clear policy from the Ministry of Interior on how to deal with the issue.

In a recent incident, a senior US diplomat was spotted carrying a loaded pistol in front of the Serena Hotel located in the federal capital’s high security Red Zone area. In another incident on June 22 2009, three American diplomats were caught by the police with assault guns in their vehicle while returning from Peshawar. The vehicle bearing a fake license plate was stopped by the police at Khyber Checkpoint in G-9 Sector of Islamabad and arms were recovered during search of the vehicle. In yet another episode early this month, the Islamabad police got hold of two US diplomats near Super Market in the federal capital for possessing weapons.

According to diplomatic rules and regulations, diplomats stationed anywhere in Pakistan are required to get authorization from the Ministry of the Interior before moving out of Islamabad. However, in this case, the American diplomats had traveled to Peshawar without either getting permission or giving any intimation of where they were going to the Pakistani authorities. In each of these incidents the security personnel of the American embassy instantly rushed to the places where these diplomats were caught and a search was allowed in their presence. While justifying the acts of their diplomats, the US security staffers have usually maintained that they were carrying guns under instructions from their superiors in view of the worsening law-and-order situation in Pakistan, and the ever-rising number of threats coming from the jihadi mafia to target American officials stationed in Pakistan.

Some senior foreign office officials in Islamabad say the possession of arms by diplomats requires explicit approval by the host government, which is responsible for their security. However, he wasn’t sure if the US embassy had been granted such authorization or if the Americans ever requested it. However, the official said that it was certainly a case of abuse of diplomatic immunity, which did not allow them under any circumstances to carry arms. Police officials in their background discussions also insisted that it was an illegal practice, but they were helpless to stop it.
