Damon Wilson sums up Clinton`s visit and Putin`s statements
Putin`s words should be explained – Damon Wilson said in an exclusive interview with Rustavi 2. Damon Wilson is Vice President and Director of the International Security Program at the Atlantic Council, focusing on NATO transformation, European defence, emerging global security challenges and transatlantic defence and intelligence cooperation.
Mr. Wilson assessed the visit of the US Secretary of State to Tbilisi and the statements by Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin made promptly after this visit. Damon Wilson said the visit of Mrs Clinton would be followed by very clear outcome for Georgia. He said this visit was full of messages not only for Georgia, but for Russian as well, which tries to obstruct to the effective work of the Geneva negotiations.
While commenting the advice of the Russian PM to Georgia, who said Georgian government, should arrange things with the puppet regimes independently, Wilson said Russia would better push these regimes to the table of negotiations instead of obstructing to the effective negotiations around the South Caucasus problems.
